TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR THE EVENT
The following rules and regulations apply to all participants of the Barelang Bridge Marathon and MUST be adhered to at all times during the event. It is the responsibility or each runner to read and understand all of the following before starting the race. All participants are responsible for their actions. These rules have been established to protect the natural landscape, participants, volunteers and other individuals. Failure to comply with these rules may result in: time penalties, immediate disqualification from the event or fines. The Race Director has the authority to alter and/or implement rules as needed before or during the event. Thank you, in advance, for your cooperation and assistance. Additional rules may follow.
You must be at least 16 Years.
MUST I SIGN RELEASE FORM OF LIABILITY?
By registering for any of the events, you acknowledge and accept the ‘RELEASE FROM LIABILITY’ and that you are aware running long distance is an extreme sport and can be injurious to body and health. You take full responsibility for participating in the Barelang Bridge Marathon and do not hold the organizing committee of Barelang Bridge Marathon, Runners, Sponsors or other organizing persons or entities responsible for any injury or accident.
IS THE PAYMENT REFUNDABLE?
Please choose the event carefully, confirmed registrations are non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be modified. Provide us with a secure email address that you can access regularly, as this will be our primary means of contacting you during the run up to the event. Users of email services that offer filtering / blocking of messages from unknown email address should add firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com to their address list.
HOW WE WILL CONTACT YOU?
The organizers will contact the runners only by email. Any notice sent to the email address registered with the Organizers shall be deemed as received by the runners.
WILL THE T-SHIRT SENT TO ME IF I'M NOT COME?
No-shows will NOT be sent t-shirts.
WHAT IS NOT ALLOWED TO USE WHILE RUNNING?
For your safety, the following are NOT permitted on the course: strollers, skates, hand-held radio/tape/CD players, pets.
IS IT MANDATORY TO COLLECT RACE PACK ON THE SCHEDULED DATE?
It is mandatory for confirmed participants to collect their race pack on a date to be announced. If a participant is unable to attend the race pack collection due to unavoidable reasons, an authorised representative may collect the race pack on their behalf. Detailed instructions in this regard will be sent by email in due course to all participants.
MUST I USE THE BIB NUMBER?
Race numbers and chips required for all races.
MAY I CHANGE THE DECISSION OF RACE DIRECTOR?
The decisions of race director, are final in all matters.
MAY I REGISTER ON THE RACE DATE?
There is NO race day registration.
HOW TO GET FINISHER MEDAL?
All runners must complete within the Cut-off -times (COT) and finish the route to receive a finisher medal.
CAN I RUN ON THE RACE DAY WITHOUT REGISTERING?
All runners MUST be registered with race management and MUST display their official race bib number on the front of their body so it is visible at all times. The bibs contain timing chips, which will provide a true time should you start at the back of the race field. However, awards for the event are based on gun time (that is, the first person to cross the finish line in each event).
WHERE TO TRASH MY LITTER?
No Littering! Other than dropping cups and clothing items at an Aid Station or race starting lines, littering of any kind is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated. If you are caught littering and/or leaving debris of any kind on the race course, you will be immediately disqualified from the event and denied entry to any future Events. (If you wear extra clothing to the starting line, we ask that you please discard these items in the starting line area or at an aid station as they will be donated to local non-profits).
MAY I CUT THE COURSE?
All participants must stay on the marked course and adhere to directions and instructions provided by law enforcement officials and/or voluteers. Any participants taking an alternate route from the official marked route must return (on foot) to the point of course departure before continuing. So, please do not shortcut, take a different path or cut the course.
MAY I CHEAT OR HELP OTHER RUNNER?
All particpants must complete the entire course for their designated race under their own power. That is, carrying, pushing, pulling or towing a registered runner is strictly prohibited at all times.
HOW TO RUN SAFELY?
Please use good sportsmanship and running etiquette: be courteous to bikers and other runners. Collisions along the course could be disastrous. We are using public roads, so please be aware of vehicular and bike traffic. All participants must treat the volunteers, aid station personnel and medical staff in a courteous manner. Injection of illicit drugs (intravenous, intramuscular, subcutaneous) during the event may result in immediate disqualification. Please, no alcohol on the course.
HOW TO DROP THE RACE?
Any runner who is unable to finish the Race must personally inform the aid station captain or medical volunteer at the nearest checkpoint of their decision to withdraw. Please do not leave the course without first notifying a race official.
WHAT HAPPEN DUE TO FORCE MAJEURE?
If the race is cancelled due to force majeure (circumstances not depending on the organisers, e.g. earthquake, flooding, riots, thunderstorm, volcano eruption), the entry fees will not be refunded.
